Fergusson first visited Antibes in 1913, renting a small house on the outskirts of the town. Following his final visit in 1960 he wrote 'the sympathetic climate and surroundings give on liking - you get into a state that allows you to like people, skies, leaves, nearly everything natural and simple…'
