Dorothy Brook (Contemporary)

Reclining Nude

Dorothy studied art at St Martins School of Art in London and initially started out as a graphic designer before turning to sculpture.

She is passionate about dance, theatre and music, which trigger the ideas for her sculptures; these influences are integral to her work.  She has always been fascinated by pattern and curves, as well as the dynamics of the body in motion.  She aims to present abstracted human forms in the most aesthetically pleasing and harmonious way.  She tries to create a balance between movement and stillness, playing with the lines and negative spaces as well as the shape and form of the body itself.

Dorothy is an associate of the Royal British Society of Sculptors and her work is widely exhibited around the country and in the USA.
