Sir Terry Frost RA (1915-2003)

Sir Terry Frost was born in 1915 in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. He was a prominent Brotish abstract artist, renowed for his vibrant geometric paintings. 

During World War II Frost served in the Royal Air Force where he was captured and held as a prisoner of war. Whist being held captive he met fellow artist Adrian Heath who encourage him to start painting. 

After the war Frost studied at Camberwell School of Art and the St Ives School of Painting. 

In 1992 Terry Frost was elected to the Royal Academy. He was a key figure in the development of abstract art in Britain and was subsequently Knighted in 1988.
