Charles Jamieson (b.1952)

Charles Jamieson was born in Glasgow in 1952 and studied at Glasgow School of Art between 1969 and 1974. Whilst a student Jamieson developed a love of acting which, after his graduation, eventually took him to Texas to study both visual and performing arts. On his return from Texas Jamieson based himself in London, where he divided his time between painting and acting. In 1992 he took a year out to travel before finally settling in Scotland where he continues to divide his time between painting and performing/producing - as well as lecturing at Glasgow School of Art. He has exhibited successfully in London and Edinburgh and his work is collected world wide, being owned by private collectors such as the Kuwait Royal Family, John Le Carre, Lord MacFarlane as well as by companies such as Prudential, Ernst & Young and Aspect Capital.
