Peter Goodfellow

Aonach Eagach, Glencoe

Born in the north east of England Peter studied Illustration at the Central School of Art and Design, London. He started his professional career as a freelance illustrator - mainly in the field of book jacket, advertising and packaging design - and established himself as one of Europe's leading illustrators. Since moving to Scotland in 1985 Peter has established himself as a painter in both oil and watercolour.  Although he does sometimes paint figures, it is his vibrant paintings of the Scottish Highlands, capturing the light and ever-changing skies, for which he is best known.   He declares himself to be an 'out and out colourist' and often paints the same subject repeatedly to distil colour and form. His work has been widely exhibited and is held in public and commerical collections in the Uk and abroad, including Saatchi & Saatchi, V & A Museum, British Telecom and BBC> He recently exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery at the BP Portrait Award 2012 exhibition.
